TipPoint Trading is located in Gelderland and is a leading reseller in the Dutch automotive industry. The company counts more than 20 thousand unique products, sold to resellers and professionals all over the Netherlands, via their own webshop and Obelink Marketplace.
As an importer and wholesaler, TipPoint Trading works with many suppliers; therefore, the team has a big amount of excel and CSV files to manage. The main challenge for them was delivering the right information, in the right format, to the right customer:
Before having a PIM tool we faced some challenges: we handle 20k unique products, so a big amount; what was very difficult is that our customers have their own sales channels, so, for instance, one of them wants all the information in a JSON, another one wants everything in excel, another client wants to get only certain categories of products.

Other kinds of challenges were the high return rate due to incorrect delivered information and not updated stock levels:

Our purchase manager creates products into Exact and in 10 minutes they are automatically imported into KatanaPIM. From here our marketer adds all the information, images, and digital assets. In 24 hrs the products are available on all channels. Normally integrating new products took 3 months. I can definitely say that the time to market is way faster now!

When dealing with a large number of products with different attributes, it is very easy for information to be shared incorrectly to retailers. Here too, TipPoint Trading has managed to minimize the problem of returns thanks to KatanaPIM:
Before we had a lot of returns, now the return rate is way lower! If the information on our resellers’ websites is incorrect, we get a return. So we had to call our customers to let them change the information on their website. Now, we change it into KatanaPIM and in 24 h it is also changed on our clients' websites.

Another challenge that arises when you have to manage a lot of data is team collaboration. It is often found that when multiple people work together on editing product information, errors easily increase. With a PIM solution, the team can seamlessly collaborate to enrich products with all needed information.
We have a photo studio where we take our products’ pictures. I connected the software of the photo studio to my FTP, so when our photographer takes a picture, it goes automatically to KatanaPIM’s FTP. This process usually took 20 mins a picture, now it takes 10 minutes for 3 photos! So everything is now faster and it gives a better way of working for everyone in the company!

Now that the infrastructure is strong and all software connected, TipPoint Trading can save a lot of time to take the next steps to grow the company’s business. No more need to put all that effort into managing product information!
In the future, we would like to build more online shops because it's very easy to connect multiple channels now. The software is very stable and the support is great. It's really nice to work with KatanaPIM.
